The claim involves allegations by the Kuwaiti public pension fund, PIFSS, that its former Director General, the late Fahad Al Rajaan, received secret commissions over a 20-year period. PIFSS has claimed circa. £1bn plus interest from dozens of defendants around the world. This is one of the largest fraud cases currently before the Commercial Court and the trial is listed to run for an entire year to March 2025.

As reported in Law 360, Tom Weisselberg KC, co-Head of Blackstone Chambers, has recently opened the case on behalf of the First and Second Defendants, instructed by PCB Byrne partners Ben Davies and Tom McKernan.
