The claim involves allegations by the Kuwaiti public pension fund, PIFSS, that its former Director General, the late Fahad Al Rajaan, received secret commissions over a 20-year period. PIFSS has claimed circa. £1bn plus interest from dozens of defendants around the world.
This is one of the largest fraud cases currently being dealt with by the Commercial Court and is listed for a 12-month trial from March 2025.
PCB Byrne act for the primary defendants, the estate of Mr Al Rajaan and his widow Muna Al Wazzan.
