Serena is an associate in our commercial litigation department. Her practice covers high-value, cross-border commercial disputes, with a focus on sanctions and asset recovery. Serena joined PCB Byrne in July 2026. 

Notable Experience

  • Advising a high-net-worth individual designated under the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 on a judicial review challenge seeking revocation of the designation. 
  • Advising an individual on the enforcement of a £2m Employment Tribunal award in the High Court, involving matters of cross-border asset tracing.
  • Acting for a commodities trading company defending proceedings in the High Court following an LMAA arbitration concerning a vessel explosion, involving sanctions and enforcement issues.
  • Acting for an individual and his companies in two high-value passing off claims in the High Court against US cryptocurrency exchanges concerning the misrepresentation of digital assets.

Background

Serena studied law at the University of Nottingham and completed the Legal Practice Couse with Distinction at BPP University Cambridge. Prior to joining PCB Byrne, Serena trained at a regional firm in Cambridge before moving to a litigation boutique firm in London. Serena lived in Hong Kong for eight years and is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin.
