Lydia has acted for clients with a broad range of litigation needs, including in high-profile market regulation proceedings and matters involving civil fraud and insolvency. Before joining PCB Byrne, Lydia was a prosecutor and litigator for the Office of the Crown Solicitor for Auckland.

Admitted to the bar in New Zealand in 2018, Lydia is enrolled as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.  She has appeared as sole counsel in the New Zealand District Court and High Court and as junior counsel in the New Zealand Court of Appeal.  Lydia holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (History) from the University of Auckland and an LLM (with Distinction) from the University of Edinburgh.  In addition to working for the Office of the Crown Solicitor for Auckland, she previously worked in the civil litigation team of one of New Zealand's leading commercial law firms.  Lydia joined PCB Byrne in 2023.

  • For the Crown as both junior and sole counsel in criminal trials in New Zealand
  • For the external administrators of the New Zealand entities of a major trans-Tasman construction group
