Lydia is an associate in our commercial litigation department. Her practice focuses on complex high-value commercial litigation and arbitration, as well as cross-jurisdictional matters.
Lydia joined PCB Byrne in July 2026. Lydia’s experience includes disputes across the insurance and reinsurance sector, as well as in aviation and general commercial matters in the High Court and in various international arbitration institutions. She has also acted for insolvency practitioners in client money distributions and advised shareholders on contentious restructuring and shareholder oppression claims.
Notable Experience
- Acted for the claimant, a start-up airline, in an LCIA arbitration to bring a c. US$40 million claim for breach of contract in relation to a purported termination of a lease of an aircraft.
- Advised liquidators of FCA-regulated entities in respect of client money distributions pursuant to CASS 5.
- Acted for an insurance executive in a cross-jurisdictional shareholder dispute in relation to minority shareholder oppression and deceit.
- Advised members of a property holding company on the sanctioning of a member and an OFSI licence application.
Background
Originally from Canada, Lydia studied law at the University of Kent, where she was also a Music Scholar. She then completed the Legal Practice Course with LLM at City, University of London. After qualifying in June 2023 at a boutique London firm, Lydia gained experience at City and national firms specialising in commercial litigation and disputes.
She is a member of the London Phoenix Orchestra. Lydia is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
