Caitlin is an associate in our commercial litigation department. Her practice covers high-value, complex commercial disputes and multi-jurisdictional fraud claims.

In the 2024 edition of the Legal 500, Caitlin has been recognised as a leading associate with regular involvement in the Civil Fraud team's key work.  She has received recognition from her peers and/or clients as being one to watch.

Notable Experience

  • Defending a high profile multi-billion-dollar fraud and conspiracy claim relating to an African mining project.
  • Acting for a paper production company in a breach of warranty claim for over £10 million.
  • Acted for a UK toy company in a claim for over £100 million for losses arising out of breaches of Chapter I and Chapter II of the Competition Act 1998.
  • Assisted in the case of Harlequin Property (SVG) Limited and others v Wilkins Kennedy [2016] 3188 EWHC (TCC), a professional negligence claim against a firm of accountants. The case was listed by The Lawyer as 'One of the Top Twenty Cases of 2016' and involved a seven-week trial.
  • Acted for a European company in a claim for breach of contract concerning the implementation of bitcoin technology.
  • Acted for a UK individual in a claim for specific performance of a contract relating to the allocation of shares in a multi-million-pound company.
  • Acted for a high-net-worth individual in a multi-million-pound claim for breach of contract and fraudulent misrepresentation relating to an investment portfolio.
  • Acted for a high-net-worth individual in arbitration proceedings concerning a professional negligence claim against a firm of architects.

Background

Caitlin studied history and political science at the University of Toronto. She then studied law at the University of Leeds and completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in London. Caitlin qualified in December 2017 at a boutique London firm and completed a secondment at Liberty Global Plc, one of the world's largest international broadband and TV companies. Caitlin joined the firm in early 2020. Caitlin is a member of the Young Fraud Lawyers Association.
