Boris is a partner specialising in complex commercial litigation and international arbitration. He advises companies and high net worth individuals on high value disputes, often involving multiple jurisdictions. His practice spans financial services, natural resources and technology, with particular experience in disputes connected to the former Soviet Union.

Boris represents clients in the English High Court and in arbitrations under the LCIA, ICC, SIAC, UNCITRAL and CAS rules, as well as in ad hoc proceedings. He also advises on regulatory investigations, enforcement, financial sanctions and white collar crime.

Notable Experience

•    Acted for RusChemAlliance in English court proceedings concerning anti-suit relief arising from a dispute over performance bonds in the value of circa €2 bn, including proceedings before the UK Supreme Court (Global Arbitration Review’s most important decision of 2025).
•     Acted for a metals and mining company against a financial institution in relation to LCIA proceedings seated in London involving payments due under performance bonds, including enforcement of the award in Hong Kong.
•   Acted for a number of creditors in relation to a number of “special administrations” in the UK arising from the imposition of Russia related sanctions from 2022 onwards.
•      Acted for an engineering and goods importer/exporter in relation to a claim in the English High Court by a Swiss trading entity concerning oil delivery contracts.

Background

Boris joined PCB Byrne in 2026 from Enyo Law, where he was a partner. He previously practised at Taylor Wessing and Shearman & Sterling, having trained and qualified at Herbert Smith Freehills. He holds an LLB from the London School of Economics and Political Science and is a solicitor advocate.
